The story of Alfonso and Lucrezia
In fifteenth-century Naples, amid the vitality of the Aragonese court, lived Alfonso of Aragon and Lucrezia d’Alagno. Their relationship belongs to history; around it, popular memory created a tale capable of crossing the centuries.
Tradition says that Alfonso, wishing to give Lucrezia a rare gift destined to last, had precious vine cuttings brought from Catalonia. Not a jewel, but something able to grow and change with the seasons.
